Why do we usually have car problems when it is cold
Posted by Revolution TweetingA lot of things change as seasons also change.Weather is naturally one of them. But did you know the change in weather also affects your car?It would seem that there are more cases of auto problems encountered during winter time.Your car would have a great chance of breaking down if you live in a city with a harsh weather. We would be discussing some reasons as to why cars are affected by the weather.
In my Escondido auto repair service the biggest cold weather problem are dead batteries. The reason being that when the weather is cold your battery is more overworked. And that would result to it running harder. Your headlights are usually running longer with the shorter days. Plus the heater takes more energy than an air conditioner. So the best thing to do is to make sure your battery is in good condition going into a harsh winter.
During a cold weather frozen fuel lines is another prevalent auto problem. This isn’t a big auto problem for my Oceanside auto repair service. But this is a big problem in cold weather cities. What happens is if you let your car run low on fuel condensation forms. Well when it gets cold that condensation freezes up and stops fuel from getting to the engine. The best way to avoid that is to not let your fuel run low in the winter.
Tire pressure is another one of those problems when it is cold.Cold weather can make tires lose their pressure. This is not good because it can affect the tires thickness. Bald tires won’t do well on icy conditions. So this problem is a serious one because it can be fatal. So you must make it a point also to always check the pressure of the tires of your car.
Those are common problems to cars in the cold. You can prevent some of the problems if you can just do those tips. And if the weather is very cold you do not want to encounter those problems.
