Making My Website - Getting Started

Posted by Revolution Tweeting

I have owned a modest company for a couple of years now, when I came to the conclusion that I had come to a stage where I felt I should reach a wider market. A window on the World Wide Web is an important part of small business these days, so I realized it was about time I started finding out about making my website. When I began I knew two things: First I had very little funds to invest in my new website; and #2:, I didn’t know the first thing about making free website by myself.

I decided I needed to do a bit of research first, so I started on the search engines to collect all the info I could about this process. Within a very short space of time I collected a great deal of information about making a web site, whether I looked at tackling the project myself or hire a programmer to do it. I learned that there were loads of choices to take into account, and I would be able to complete the task if I did my homework beforehand.

The 1st choice was to take on a designer to handle the job, and this was tempting indeed with my limited experience in the programming arena. I realized that some coders in this arena will charge a pretty reasonable fee for site-making your own website, when you think of how much some would ask to build a really hip, attention-grabbing site. Nevertheless, even the lowest prices were a bit much for my pocket at the time, so I decided to try my hand at it for now. If it came to it, I could always take on a designer to touch up my composition later, as I’m sure their fees for consultancy would be cheaper than making a web site from scratch.

The Internet resources I located gave lots of insightful hand-holding info for making your website, from selecting your domain name and designing actual pages, to advertising the website using the right content to pull future clients in. Some of these were aptly referred to as guides, because they lead you through the whole steps in a style that was simple for even complete technofobes to grasp.

Once I got my website online, I came across additional stuff on making a website free that helped me to smarten up my pages with plenty of fun pics, including my logo, buttons to view other pages, and pictures to make the entire package as agreeable to the eye as possible. I must admit that I found the entire process really fun, and not hard to do at all.

Nevertheless, I want to bring in an a trained professional in to help me with the ins and outs of making web site that will give my web site that much needed, expert touch that will certainly allow my site to standout.

The Internet is fully loaded with a host of shopping cart systems but no matter which ecommerce shopping cart system you pick, you still need to advertise your store properly to get results. A lot of time, a reputable ecommerce shopping cart system will give you a few ideas on how to optimize your pages and most likely how to market your site. But it is also vital that you understand what causes your potential buyers’ purchasing decisions in order to accurately advertise your deals.

What are the key factors that affect customer buying decisions?
Recommendations
“Recommendations from family and friends trump all other consumer touchpoints when it comes to influencing purchases.”

- ZenithOptimedia. AdAge, April, 2008

According to Royal Mail’s Home Shopping Tracker Study, references are the main reason for choosing a potential site. If you already have a small customer base, make sure you hold back your current customers. Handle them well by providing them some sort of allurement to recommend your site to others. Address current customers special discount coupons which can be prolonged to whomever else they suggest to your site. Certainly this will snowball and you will end up with better sales and a more prominent client base.
Reviews and Ratings
“Online reviews are second only to personal advice from a friend as the driver of purchase decisions; user reviews are more influential than third-party reviews.”

- Web users and web community, Rubicon Consulting, Inc. October 2008

In fact, (65% of) individuals tend to believe reviews by fellow consumers rather than experts. In other words that user reviews are the most credible form of advertising. It’s no wonder then why Amazon always slips in a couple of user reviews on their product pages. Notice that they also comprise bad reviews along with excellent ones. Of course good reviews usually well outnumber bad ones but the addition of poor reviews lends the overall reviews a sense of authenticity.

Those little rating stars you see on the product page actually have its presence felt on the minds of consumers.  They suggest the quality of the particular product even before the customer reads any reviews (or even if the customer doesn’t even read any reviews). If there are many reviews for a particular product, even an average rating for the product may suffice to gain confidence a would-be customer.
FAQs
“Online businesses lose as many as 67% of consumers due to a lack of online product information.”

- Allurent, January 2008

Never underestimate the importance of frequently asked questions. More than three quarters of online shoppers surveyed by an ecommerce shopping cart software service stated that available content is insufficient for them to opt to purchase online. This is 3 potential sales for every actual sale that a web store makes. That’s quite a loss right there. And the likelihood of those customers returning is close to nil. Cleverly potential~would be~prospective} customers make their minds up sooner, before they decide~make a decision~choose~opt~make the decision} to move on.

Ways to sell more at trade shows

Posted by Revolution Tweeting

A trade show is one of the most underutilized ways to promote a business.Businessmen do not realize the fact that they can make a lot of money in these trade shows.  But you can’t just show up at a trade show and expect to make a bunch of sales. You must do a lot of things so that your product will be noticed by people.  Once you are able to do that you can make more sales.  So this article will look at some ways that you can get more sales.

Jostling for people’s attention is the first thing you must realize you must do when in trade shows.Image is everything once you realize that.  You have to set up a trade show display booth that will attract more attention.Having a catchy set up is one way to grab their attention.  Everything has to look top notch and professional.Once you do that then you are on the right track.

Next thing you will need are retractable banner stands.Yes, you may have your booth already.  But next to it you will still need something that will bring more attention to it.  Retractable banners do that very well.  They are going to be your signal to the people at the trade show to come on over.  So you get a nice image or logo of your business that is attractive. It has to be creative enough so that people would come over your booth.Once that happens then it’s up to your people to do the sales talk.

Of course bringing people over to your tradeshow displays is just the beginning. You must have good salespeople there. They should know your product from the inside out. They should also be prepared in their presentation of the product that you sell.Because if they are not good salesperson then your business in trade shows will not profit.

So there goes some of the ways on how to make money in trade shows.  You have to have attractive displays and booths.  Then once there you have to have great people to close the sale.

Why do we usually have car problems when it is cold

Posted by Revolution Tweeting

A lot of things change as seasons also change.Weather is naturally one of them.  But did you know the change in weather also affects your car?It would seem that there are more cases of auto problems encountered during winter time.Your car would have a great chance of breaking down if you live in a city with a harsh weather. We would be discussing some reasons as to why cars are affected by the weather.

In my Escondido auto repair service the biggest cold weather problem are dead batteries. The reason being that when the weather is cold your battery is more overworked. And that would result to it running harder.  Your headlights are usually running longer with the shorter days.  Plus the heater takes more energy than an air conditioner.  So the best thing to do is to make sure your battery is in good condition going into a harsh winter.

During a cold weather frozen fuel lines is another prevalent auto problem.  This isn’t a big auto problem for my Oceanside auto repair service.  But this is a big problem in cold weather cities.  What happens is if you let your car run low on fuel condensation forms.  Well when it gets cold that condensation freezes up and stops fuel from getting to the engine.  The best way to avoid that is to not let your fuel run low in the winter.

Tire pressure is another one of those problems when it is cold.Cold weather can make tires lose their pressure. This is not good because it can affect the tires thickness.  Bald tires won’t do well on icy conditions. So this problem is a serious one because it can be fatal. So you must make it a point also to always check the pressure of the tires of your car.

Those are common problems to cars in the cold. You can prevent some of the problems if you can just do those tips. And if the weather is very cold you do not want to encounter those problems.

Email Marketing’s Role In Internet Marketing

Posted by Revolution Tweeting

When you hear the term “internet marketing“, what do you think of?

For many, that term conjures thoughts of websites or spamming or search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing. For others, it’s all about graphical design, writing fancy code or even affiliate programs. All of those answers correct, but the essence of internet marketing is much simpler.

At its core, internet marketing is about these things:

* Understanding the target market to which the product/service/cause you’re marketing will appeal
* Determining exactly how your target market interacts with the internet
* Positioning your content on the internet to attract the attention of your target market
* Collecting information about your target market (also known as “leads”) for follow-up and conversion into sales
* Design of offers or incentives to induce the desired actions from your leads

Since there is insufficient space in this article to give all of these topics adequate attention, let’s focus on just one specific topic with the realm of internet marketing: Email Marketing.

My best payoff has always come by focusing on permission-based email marketing. Permission-based email marketing refers to the practice of collecting information (including email addresses) from website visitors and communicating with them via e-mail with their direct consent. The “permission” aspect of permission-based email marketing is what separates legitimate email marketers from the spammers that everyone despises.

My love of email marketing is strong for one reason: It works very well. Email marketing has been much like a never-ending goldmine: It enables us to produce income on demand simply by sending a good offer to our list. When you have thousands of loyal subscribers - as we do - and you put a strong and compatible offer in front of them, income becomes nearly automatic.

However, the key to successful email marketing is the development of a legitimate trust relationship with your subscribers. If you opt to send your subscribers a request for purchases every single day, they will likely tire of your badgering and cease reading your emails altogether.

Alternatively, if you take the time to provide good content to your readers on a regular and frequent basis, you’ll discover that your readers take all of your emails far more seriously, and as a result your emails will be opened, read and acted upon with greater frequency. Essentially, email marketing is really an exercise in trust.

Even though there are more sides to internet marketing than just email marketing (permission based), email has been the foundation that our business sits on.

Destroy Those Devlish Sinus Infections

Posted by Revolution Tweeting

sinus problems

Honestly, there are a number of possibilities that could have caused that infection in the first place. What caused an infection can be hard to pinpoint at times. You could have gotten the infection when you were at work, in the shopping mall, during an activity or at home.   Many sinus infections are known for being caused by the common cold, which is known as viral influenza. This will cause you to have congestion in the nose area.   During this time, the nose will be filled with that mucus, which will cause an accumulation of white blood cells in the nose lining. This in turns makes it hard for the individual to breathe or smell and the only way you can get it out would be to blow it out.   Commonly, this common flu will stay for about one week. After this time, we usually recover, but it will leave behind those inflamed sinuses. You may not realize it, but the nose is a sensitive part of the human body that is able to catch viral infections easily.   A sinus infection could also be caused by being exposed to pollen, dust particles and other irritants that are in the air. This type of stuff prevents the mucus from draining away. When bacteria that cause influenza and streptococcus pneumonia are in your upper respiratory tract, it can cause an infection. Sinus infections are painful and if you shake your head and it hurts, then you probably have one.
